The Canon HF G40 can record full HD 1080p videos in AVCHD format, this format is great for HD recording. While the AVCHD is unsupported by iMovie or Final Cut Express. The 1920 x 1080p / 60 fps AVCHD full recordings from Canon HF G40 can't be recognized by iMovie/FCE on Mac.
