Sony creates two versions from the HX90, the CyberShot HX90 and CyberShot HX90V. The only real difference between this two versions is how the V-version offers GPS technologies inside while the HX90 doesn't. Both HX90 and HX90V have Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity built-in and therefore are compatible with a few of the apps obtainable via Sony's PlayMemories plan.
The Sony DSC-HX90(V) records Full HD 1080p videos in AVCHD or in the high-quality XAVC S format at 50 Mbps in multiple frame rates. But you might find that there are issues when it comes to viewing, importing and editing Sony HX90(V) XAVC S files in non-linear editing software like Apple Aperture. Why can't import and edit Sony HX90(V) XAVC S files with Aperture? Because the Sony XAVC S files are not supported by Aperture. From Apple Aperture product page you will know that Aperture native supported codec is Apple ProRes codec, with the ProRes can you edit videos natively with Aperture. 1. Install and run the Sony HX90(V) to Aperture Converter on your Mac, and then click "Add File" button to load the Sony DSC-HX90(V) XAVC S files to it. You can load batch files for batch conversion, you can also directly drag and drop the videos.
